Determined, intelligent, driven, focused, funny, energetic, outgoing, strong, motivated…… Those are some of the ways people describe Alison in all aspects of her life… Born and raised in Eugene, Oregon, she grew up running through the woods, waterskiing, playing soccer, softball, basketball and other organized sports. When she was 8 she began running local 5k road races, but it wasn’t until high school that she found her true love and passion in Track and Field. Alison ran the 800 meters in 2:06 and pole-vaulted 12’6 for her high school and on the Junior Olympic level, solidifying herself as one of the top female athletes in her region. Growing up in Track Town USA, Alison dreamed of running track for the University of Oregon and her hometown crowd. Unfortunately, Alison broke her back while pole-vaulting, ending her track and field career her freshman year in college. It was this event that led Alison to where she is today. She began training other athletes, helping them prepare for all levels of competition from middle school to professional athletics; giving them guidance with nutrition, cardiovascular, and strength training. While her passion will always be in athletics, she wanted to touch the lives of more people and began training more of the general population; helping people lose weight/gain weight, rehabilitate from injuries, overcome eating disorders through exercise, ensure healthy pregnancies, combat osteoporosis and other age related issues, and general health and fitness. Alison believes everyone is an athlete on some level and she infuses her many years of training as an elite athlete into each and every workout.
When Alison is not training both athletes and the general population clientele through private sessions, buddy sessions, group fitness classes, and virtual training, in the San Francisco bay area, Alison is busy managing her 7,200 sq ft private training facility and wellness center, Truve. Truve, located at 2345 Broadway in Oakland, Ca is celebrating 6 years of business and being awarded best gym in Oakland or Best Personal trainer for every year in business.

I love fitness because it is empowering! As a personal trainer, it is my joy and mission to help others discover their strength and build a genuine love of movement. Exercise can be challenging, but it shouldn’t suck. Let’s play out while we work out!
My love of movement comes from a childhood of gymnastics. As a kid, I was always moving. Exercise was natural. I trusted my body and didn’t think much about it at all.
Growing up, I slowly and unconsciously slipped into a sedentary lifestyle. Right out of high school, I started a full-time desk job and sat through night classes in the evenings. I quickly packed on weight and felt uncomfortable just existing in my body. My energy level and well-being suffered and my motivation to move disappeared. Instead of addressing this change, I poured myself into my work and my relationships and put my Self on the back burner. Years passed, I had a beautiful child, and my habits only got worse. My story is common, but I felt alone and hopeless all the while.
My turning point came when my daughter was six months old and discovering food. I felt her little eyes staring a hole through me whenever I stepped foot into the kitchen - like a spotlight following my every move. I knew what I should be doing, so I became determined to make better decisions and be a good role model for her. That is still my mission to this day.
My daughter is my “why,” the reason that I restructured my health habits and released over seventy pounds of extra weight in the last five years. More importantly, we make healthy, active choices together, and it brings more value to my life than I could’ve imagined.

Hello, my name is Kalen McGee and I am a native Bay Area native. I have been an athlete my entire life playing sports like baseball, basketball, soccer, and football. My lifelong commitment to fitness and health as well as my experience as a D1 football player has motivated me to become a fitness trainer.
As a certified personal trainer, I am excited to share my knowledge, skills, joy and passion for personal fitness with others through training. My goal is to help clients feel strong and confident in their body while making sustainable lifestyle changes.
Although the journey will not be easy, I believe personal training sessions should be fun, safe, difficult, but efficient. I expect my clients to give effort, work hard, work effectively, and in return they should expect to see results, reach their goals, and be ready to handle any adversity life throws at them.

Brenda-Jane also known as BJ to friends first started coaching health & fitness after finding success with Beachbody’s online programs. In less than one year, she transformed her body and her life through consistent daily practices, while still enjoying a few of life’s indulgences. This made her journey different from most because she learned that she didn’t have to trade in birthday dinners with friends, happy hours, vacations, & more for health & fitness. This is what Brenda-Jane wants to share with you.
When BJ first started her group fitness journey, she would jump at any opportunity to bring people together to sweat and connect. From leading sweat sessions in the basement of an Oakland restaurant, to being recruited by Mickey Lopez to lead MMA – inspired HIIT classes at Sobekick, BJ was determined to share her mission of vitality and balance. Since then, she has evolved to motivating and coaching people, online and in-person, through group and personal training, and using fitness for philanthropic events.
She has had many pursuits in life but the through line is she is always at her best when she is empowering others.

Amanda Hough, Licensed Massage Therapist

Amanda is from Washington State, but moved to Maui, HI during her childhood. While living on island she grew a passion for outdoors and holistic healing properties. Having this outlook on life gave her an understanding of how powerful the human anatomy is. Pursuing her interests of the human anatomy and healing others, she moved back to Washington State to attend an eight hundred hour program at Denton Massage School in 2012, graduating in 2013.
After graduation, Amanda moved to the Bay Area where she became Spa Manager at Archimedes Banya, SF for two years. As her clientele continued to grow, she moved to the East Bay and begin her own private practice.
Amanda's personal style is a fusion of Swedish, deep tissue, and sports massage. She combines these modalities to give each client a personalized massage tailored to their needs. Open communication about areas of discomfort and overall session goals are important to ensure that each client's needs are well met. She also offers pre-natal massages.
